Stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and Symantec Embedded Database Service.
Rename / Delete the current sem5.log file
Open a command prompt
In the Command Prompt type: "CD C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\ASA\win32\" and press Enter this will change directories to the folder containing dbsrv11.exe.
To force the recreation of sem5.log: Type: "dbsrv11 -f "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db\sem5.db" and press Enter
Start the Symantec Embedded Database Service and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service.
Problem:
hiberfil.sys file is massive.
Solution:
run the following command from command prompt to disable hibernation mode: powercfg -h off
Log Files that are safe to delete;
Problem:
The file sqla000.tmp balloons to fill the drive it is on for unknown reason.Location: C:\Windows\Temp\
File: sqla0000.tmp
Solution:
Restarting the Symantec Embedded Database service will shrink the file size tremendously.Problem:
The file sem5.log balloons to massive proportions
